Fullstack Developer (Onsite Japan)

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack features using TypeScript, with clear separation between Frontend (React) and Backend (Node.js). 
  • Design and optimize schemas, queries, and performance with PostgreSQL; collaborate on migrations, indexing, and data strategy. 
  • Build clear APIs with appropriate versioning and error handling; aim for end-to-end type safety where practical (shared types, validation).
  • Participate in code reviews, follow quality standards, and write unit/integration tests as required by the project.
  • Work onsite with Japanese clients or teams: meetings, clarifying requirements, and reporting progress in Japanese at N2–N3 level.
  • Coordinate with BA, QA, and DevOps according to project process (CI/CD, staging/production environments as applicable).

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 4–5+ years of software development experience; pre-senior capability (ownership of modules, mentoring juniors, sound technical judgment).
  • Strong TypeScript on both React and Node.js (specific runtime/framework such as Express, NestJS, or Fastify — per project stack).
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL: modeling, transactions, and foundational performance tuning.
  • Japanese N2–N3 (certificate or equivalent demonstrated in interview); able to commit to long-term onsite work. 
  • Available to onboard from 01 July 2026. 

Nice-to-have 

  • Outsourcing experience and/or direct work with Japanese clients.
  • Basic security awareness (authentication/authorization, OWASP), logging, and monitoring. 
  • Docker/Kubernetes or CI/CD pipelines, depending on project needs.
